The Partnership has positioned the county for regional and national corporate development in our promotional activities. With the extraordinary attractions of Resorts World Catskills, YO1, and others; an influx of investments and jobs is underway. By 2019 it is estimated that nearly 3,000 new jobs will be created. We have welcomed investments from Kohl’s, Ideal Snacks, Crystal Run Healthcare, We Ship Express, Nonni’s, and many others. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is considered locally investment driven, yet its investment and impact is equal to, or better than large corporate attraction projects it being considered a world-renowned center of the arts. The Partnership looks to identify and assist ancillary businesses now and into the future as we continue to use the strength of our investors, strategic relationships, and the region to work closely with economic development partners to market our comparative advantages and continue to make the case for external investment into Sullivan County.

The Partnership is currently focused on attracting businesses that will expand and enhance the existing base of tourism, light manufacturing, distribution, agribusiness, and green development industry clusters. Tourism continues to be a leading economic driver in Sullivan County, generating more than $419 million annually. Agriculture is the second largest industry in the county with 382 farms that collectively generate total annual revenue of $78 million. Light manufacturing and distribution continues to grow, maximizing low-cost labor, local and state incentives, and relative proximity to the New York metro market. Green development remains a fast-growing industry sector with a significant portion of stimulus monies dedicated to green projects across the nation.
