FisherMears Associates Strategic Marketing Now a Certified NYS Women Business Enterprise

FisherMears Associates, an advertising and marketing communications company based in the Catskills-Hudson Valley region has received certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) by Empire State Development’s Division of Minority and Women’s Business Development. (DMWBD). “Customers who work with us appreciate having direct access to the owners and the high-level of creativity and outstanding service they enjoy. We look forward to new growth and diversification opportunities that will come our way as a result of our WBE certification,” said company president Karen Fisher.

To be certified as a WBE, a business must be at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by a woman (or women) who holds the authority to independently manage and control the firm’s strategic direction and day-to-day business decisions. Fisher and Anne Dubrovsky, vice-president, entirely own the company.

The DMWBD promotes equality of economic opportunities for WBEs and helps eliminate barriers to their participation in state contracts by encouraging and assisting state agencies to award a fair share of contracts to them. As part of the WBE certification, FisherMears Associates is now listed on the NYS Directory of Certified Firms and has access to New York State bid and grant opportunities, as well as events, training, webinars, and other resources reserved for certified WBEs.

FisherMears Associates emphasizes a team approach with their customers.
