The Distinguished Service Award, selected in-house by staff, recognizes an individual or individuals who provide extraordinary service to the Partnership in a given year.
“Jacob is well deserving,” said Marc Baez, President, Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development. “Each chairperson learns from each other, brings something different, yet this year Jacob gave a little bit more.”
Improving organizational process tops the list of Billig’s recent contributions. Billig’s leadership evolving “procedures by which we do things, how we conduct our operational business will have a lasting impact on the Partnership going forward,” Baez said.
A Sullivan County native, Billig was elected Chairman of the Board of the Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development in 2015. Billig also dedicates energy to the Monticello Little League, Monticello School Board (10 years), the Zion Lions AAU basketball team of Newburgh, and the Woodbourne synagogue congregation B’nai Israel.
