Middletown Medical, the Hudson Valley’s premier provider of healthcare services, has again expanded its staff of healthcare professionals, welcoming Physician Assistant Samantha Adriaans and Dietitian & Diabetes Educator Laura Ronen, M.S., R.D., C.D.E. to the team.
Adriaans will serve patients as a primary care provider, as well as through Middletown Medical’s Urgent Care Center.
She is a board-certified Physician Assistant, and a recent graduate of Mercy College in Bronx, N.Y., where she received her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
“Samantha joins us with remarkable drive to serve our community and provide compassionate, professional care to our patients and their families,” said Melissa Wolff, the medical group’s Marketing Director and Physician Recruiter. “Her impressive academic performance speaks to the competency and quality she brings to our team.”
Through the collegiate program at Mercy College, Adriaans completed nine rotations in nine different areas of medicine. Prior to her time at Mercy, she attended Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology. She is also BLS/ACLS certified, and is proficient in conversational Spanish.
Ms. Ronen brings nearly two decades of experience as a dietician to Middletown Medical. In addition to being a Registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator, Ms. Ronen is a New York State Licensed Dietician and a member of both the American Association of Diabetes Educators and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
“Diabetes affects millions of Americans, with high cholesterol and obesity and other weight-related issues affecting millions more,” said Melissa Wolff. “The individualized guidance and education provided by professionals like Ms. Ronen is critical to our mi ssio n of providing patient-centered care.”
Ms. Ronen received her Masters of Science in Nutrition and Food Studies from New York University in New York, N.Y. In addition to helping patients manage their conditions, Ms. Ronen has co-authored publications covering topics such as cholesterol management and diabetes.
