Funding allocated through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Business Development Grant program in the amount of $509,642 has been awarded to the County of Sullivan Industrial Development Agency (IDA).
Specifically, $314,420 will go to Catskill Brewery to help them further their expansion, creating seven jobs and growing the demand for locally sourced hops and grains.
The remaining $195,222 will be used for improvements at the Goodness Grainless Bakery, which produces gluten-free, nutfree, and allergen-free products, growing the demand for locally sourced produce and creating five new jobs.
“This federal investment is a win-win for Sullivan County and local businesses,” said Senator Schumer. “With support from the USDA’s Rural Business Development Grant program, the County of Sullivan Industrial Development Agency can support Catskill Brewery and Goodness Grainless, enriching the regional economy and supporting local jobs. …”
